The site of Cleveland’s first settlement in the 1790’s, The Cuyahoga River Flats soon grew into a booming industrial area dotted with saloons, brothels, factories, and residences. The river, as well as the Ohio and Erie Canal, brought commerce and prosperity to the area – as well as the occasional murder! Hauntings were soon to follow.
Come explore the site where the Cleveland Torso Killer’s final victim was recovered from the murky Cuyahoga River in 1938. Pull up a stool at the legendary Flat Iron Cafe, said to be one of Cleveland’s most haunted saloons. Stand on the site of Cleveland’s first reported murder, which occurred in 1803, and visit a railroad crossing where over a century ago, a ghost was said to wail from beyond the grave.

Part true crime, part ghost walk, part pub crawl, this tour meets on select Friday evenings at 8:00 pm at the Harbor Inn – 1219 Main Ave., Cleveland, OH 44113. Ample parking may be found in the area. It is suggested that guests check in 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour. This walking tour lasts approximately 3 hours and concludes on the opposite bank of the Flats, near the intersection of Front Ave. and W. 10th Street, just over 1 mile away.
As this tour visits three historic pubs, this tour is strictly 21 and over only. No exceptions. No pets are permitted on this tour. Beverage purchase is not required to attend this tour. This tour may involve stairs or steep terrain, if anyone is unable to manage these due to physical limitations, please let us know ahead of time and we will try to accommodate your needs.
This tour does not return to the point of origin.
Optional rides to our starting point are offered for a small additional fee through Grave Expectations, who will stylishly shuttle you back to the Harbor Inn in a CONVERTED HEARSE!
