The Ghosts of Old Pearl Street

Meet the Spirits Along West 25th

Situated on the bluffs above the West Bank of the Cuyahoga River, Ohio City stands as Cleveland’s oldest neighborhood. Its busiest avenue was Pearl Street – today’s West 25th Street. Many locations along this corridor, including more than a couple of historic saloons, boast their own ghostly tales and attachments to haunted legends.

Visit the site of Engine House No. 6 and discover the amazing reasons why it was known as the Haunted Fire House. Hear the legend of the Cave of Apparitions, and the terrors reported to still sleep in cavernous spaces beneath the city. Rediscover the location of an undertaker’s parlor, where the ghost of a woman was heard to shriek from beyond the grave! These stories and more await…

This tour meets select Friday evenings at 8:00 pm at Forest City Brewery – 2135 Columbus Rd., Cleveland, OH 44113. Parking is available in the lot at the east end of Freeman Avenue. It is suggested that guests check in 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour. This walking tour lasts approximately 3 hours and ends near the intersection of Detroit and West 25th Streets, nearly 3/4 of a mile north.
